Live Online Integrative Harm Reduction Psychotherapy (IHRP) Essentials Training

This online course offers a comprehensive overview of integrative harm reduction psychotherapy (IHRP) along with practical strategies/skills about how to apply this model in clinical settings with a variety of populations. This course will consist of a combination of lectures, role-plays, case examples, and discussions.

Our Harm Reduction Psychotherapy Certificate Program offers a 15-week intensive immersion in the principles, theories, and practical application of harm reduction psychotherapy. Harm reduction psychotherapy is a collaborative, personalized, and empowering approach to helping those with substance use issues and other risky behaviors. Our integrative perspective brings together relational psychoanalysis, psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and mindfulness approaches.

Ketamine treatment is currently entering a phase of popularity and increased promotion. There are many reports of significant success with ketamine in the treatment of depression, substance use issues, and trauma. But the speed of its increasing popularity seems to have left behind the discussion of risks, pitfalls, and possible negative outcomes. This panel reviewed the benefits, necessary accompanying protocols, and potentially harmful outcomes from a clinical and social perspective. Best practices for clinicians wishing to support clients receiving ketamine treatment were also reviewed.
