Acupuncture, yoga, and holistic health assessments can complement traditional psychotherapy to provide a truly integrative approach to healing from substance misuse, problematic behaviors and other mental health issues. Our clinical team offers a range of individual and group-based acupuncture, meditation, yoga, and holistic health services to address a variety of issues including: anxiety, depression, cravings, withdrawal symptoms, insomnia, chronic pain, trauma, headaches, smoking cessation, reproductive and menstrual issues, and other common conditions. We work collaboratively to support outside providers who refer their clients to us for these services.

Individual Holistic Health Intake/Assessment (with or without NADA Acupuncture):
A complete, personalized intake and evaluation to assess all areas of personal health and wellness. This service is beneficial for anyone who wishes to live holistically and naturally. This intake/assessment focuses on the prevention of disease and/or finding holistic solutions to chronic, vexing health conditions which are inadequately addressed by conventional western medical methods. Please note that this service does not replace the need for medical examinations by your primary care physician, but can complement western medicine to optimize your healing and health.

Individual Holistic Health Consultation (with or without NADA Acupuncture):
A conversation about health practices and suggestions for improving wellness.This consultation is a more informal discussion to address areas in your life which could benefit from holistic health and lifestyle changes to live your best and most satisfying life.

NADA Acupuncture:
The National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) protocol uses 5 acupuncture points in each ear and is an effective complement to psychotherapy sessions offered at the Center. NADA acupuncture can address symptoms associated with substance misuse such as insomnia, mental/emotional pain, irritability, anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma.

Group NADA Acupuncture Session:
NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) protocol is very beneficial in a group setting where participants can support one another in the healing process. Group NADA can also be a wonderful modality for families, couples, and friends to facilitate healing in a supportive environment. Group NADA offers a powerful process to open the mind and heart for honest communication and discovering creative solutions to deep, difficult emotional issues.

Individual Yoga and Meditation:
Yoga and meditation have been utilized for thousands of years for healing and integrating the body, mind and spirit. These practices can seamlessly complement and enhance the psychotherapy provided at our Center to help with stress reduction, challenging emotions and trauma, and issues related to substance misuse.

Dr. James Powers is a doctor of acupuncture and Chinese medicine; he is a NY State licensed acupuncturist and was nationally board certified in oriental medicine which he began studying in 2001. Dr. Powers utilizes the extremely effective NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) Protocol, which is promoted by various organizations such as the UN and Yale Medical School, for substance use issues. Dr. Powers received his yoga certification at the Vivekananda Ashram located outside of Bangalore, India.
