IHRP Experimental Workshop
Sale Price: $150.00 Original Price: $200.00

This day-long training will focus on the core principles of Integrative Harm Reduction Psychotherapy (IHRP), and how to apply these principles and intervention techniques in group psychotherapy for individuals negotiating substance use issues and other potentially risky behaviors. The training will place an emphasis on teaching practical techniques using experiential group exercises and role-plays to collectively facilitate group leaders to leave the training with core IHRP group intervention techniques.

This training is geared for clinicians who run groups or work with individuals who deal with issues related to substance use.

Three learning objectives:

  1. Participants can expect to be able to identify the 7 therapeutic tasks associated with Integrative Harm Reduction Psychotherapy (IHRP) and how those tasks apply to group intervention techniques.

  2. Participants can expect to identify 3 practical skills-based interventions from an IHRP group framework that can be used in a group setting to help individuals identify and move towards positive change goals, as well as deal with clients who are ambivalent about making change.

  3. Participants can expect to identify 3 ways in which IHRP groups are different from AA or abstinence only treatment groups.
